Which Acai Is Best? Juice vs. Capsules

October 31st, 2008 by admin

Let’s first mention that we are using the criteria of potency, purity and price as well as ease and convenience of use to make these recommendations

Juice – Most acai berry juice products are juice blends that often have small amounts of acai, so we avoid most of the juice products.

Pulp – Frozen pulp is excellent but it is cumbersome for most people to prepare since you need to use a blender and other ingredients to make a smoothie. So it’s an excellent way to have acai but it is time consuming so for most people who are on the go all the time it tends to be less practical.

Powder – Freeze dried powder is excellent also but keep in mind that everytime the container is opened you are exposing the freeze dried acai powder to the air/oxygen. This causes the nutritional value of the powder to degrade. The longer the jar is open the faster it degrades. The longer the jar is out of the refrigerator the faster it degrades. So powder is good but we think using capsules filled with freeze dried acai powder is better. See below.

Capsules – The capsules that contain organic freeze dried powder are excellent and our favorite way to get our acai. The advantage is that the acai powder within the capsule is protected from the air because it is in its capsule. The capsule provides prtection from the air. You still want to refrigerate the capsules, but this is the best way to insure that your acai remains nutritionally potent for much longer periods of time than if the powder was in a container.
