Consumer Alert 2 – Acai Automatic Shipments

About Acai Berry Auto-Ship Scams

Everyday we get emails and calls from people who are victims of “auto-ship” scams involving acai berry. Be sure to read the prior post on this blog titled “Avoid Free Acai Berry Offers.”

How To Stop Automatic Shipments

According to the comments from victims, when they can’t reach the companies behind the auto-shipment scams, they often contact the banks who issued their credit card for help to dispute the charges.

We are doing everything we can to alert people to avoid these scandalous marketers. But so many people want free stuff or want a magic weight loss potion that they keep falling for these rip-offs. All we can do is keep doing our best to get the word out.

Victims call us or email us desperately everyday trying to get the automatic monthly shipments to stop. They are always confused about which company is sending the shipments so they start calling any website that carries acai berry products which has a phone number or an email address. It’s apparent that the crooks don’t make their contact information easily accessible (just like they bury their auto-shipment disclosures in places on their websites where few people find them!)

Some folks obviously think that “acai berry” is a product name. It’s not, it’s the name of a berry. Just like blueberry, mulberry, etc. Legitimate acai berry distributors and manufacturers have indicated they are getting the same calls and emails everyday. Since our highly ranked website comes up prominently on internet searches all over the world, we get a lot of these calls and emails. We explain to the people by email or on the phone that…

The products we represent or advertise do NOT:

Do NOT auto-ship.
Do NOT offer free trials or free samples.
Do NOT claim acai berry is a weight loss product.
Do NOT promote acai berry as a cleanse product.
Do NOT market through spam advertising.
And…if you are getting auto-shipments that you don’t want, you are contacting the wrong company.

We do not and will not ever do business with any company that misrepresents what acai berry does or puts people unwittingly on auto-shipments.

Hopefully, the Federal Trade Commission will step in and stop these rip-offs. In the meantime, maybe the credit card processors will shut them down first. That’s what usually happens.

A Legitimate High Quality Acai Product You Can Trust

Unfortunately I ordered this product from one of the auto-ship companies (SFL Nutrition) and am disputing the charges through my bank. This company is very hard to get a hold of and my bank is having the same problems. I have returned the products to SFL and have been waiting for about a month for a refund. I will be contacting the BBB regarding this company once I have full disclosure of who they really are. What a big rip off!
