Acai Berry Products To Avoid
Avoid Products That
Use The Acai Seed
The acai berry is mostly seed. There is only 10 to 20% of the berry that is eaten. Brazilians do not eat the seed. They only eat the skin and pulp of the fruit. The seed is thrown out or it gets used for other purposes. The accolades that we hear and see about this wonderful fruit are about the skin and pulp and none of it involves the seed or pit. All the research and nutritional info that we have seen is talking about the acai berry skin and pulp.
In Brazil, after the skin and pulp are removed, the seeds are sometimes put aside to be used as food for livestock, especially pigs. That is correct. The acai seeds are food for pigs. By the way, these seeds can be used to grow new acai palm trees.
The only acai products we accept as legitimate use only the skin and pulp of the acai berry and not the seed, such as the product 100% Pure Perfect Acai.
