Made From Acai "Extract"
are Not Recommended
We only recommend acai berry products made from the whole fruit. By the whole fruit we are referring to the "pulp" and the "skin".
An "extract" is a substance made by soaking the acai berry fruit in a liquid that removes certain types of chemicals and properties.
Freeze-drying the fresh acai berry fruit allows for all of the natural ingredients of the fresh acai fruit to be preserved. But the process of created an "extract" does not.
Freeze-drying protects all the positive active biological properties of the fruit without the use of chemicals or water. Extracts do not.
The are so many nutrients in the acai berry fruit, including some that probably haven't been identified yet, it makes no sense to use a product that is only an extract of the fruit. So we recommend against products made from acai extract.
Another problem with extracts is that they are usually made from spray dried Acai. The only thing less desirable than spray dried acai fruit …is an extract of spray dried acai fruit, in our view.
The antioxidant potency of high quality freeze-dried acai as measured by ORAC value has tested to be as high as 50 times as high as the acai extracts.
We also avoid products with labels such as 4:1 or "super concentrated extract".
The acai best product is one that contains all of the nutrients of the whole Acai berry. We believe the best way to get that is in a high quality freeze dried Acai powder whether the powder is in capsules or jars.
The full nutritional benefits of the acai berry fruit are only obtained when you use products from high quality freeze-dried acai that has been freeze dried within 24 hours of being harvested and has been freeze-dried using the highest quality control standards.
Our recommendation is to read the labels for the list of ingredients.
We Avoid Products That Use:
- acai extract,
- acai 4:1 extract,
- the acai pit,
- spray dried products,
- thin film dried products.
Stick with acai products that use only 100% pure organic freeze-dried acai from a very reliable source such as 100% Pure Perfect Acai.
